Amy E. Waldron, Muncy Senior
High School,
Business Management Pennsylvania State University, Altoona Campus
As a senior at Muncy High School, I, Amy Waldron,
am looking forward to pursing the next steps toward achieving my
lifetime goals. It is my intent to graduate from Penn Sate
University with a master’s degree in Business Management. I have
decided to pursue this degree following my success participation in
the State Future Business Leaders of American competition in both
Business Law and Business Management Decision Making.
Due to the opportunity of working with the
programs B.U.I.LD. and youth leadership Lycoming, it has been
brought to my attention the needs of the resources of our community.
As President of the Muncy Key Club, I have been able to organize and
participate in programs to help others in need. Because of having
these experiences, I am driven to succeed in my profession. I look
forward to having opportunity to give back to my community by aiding
future students in having the same or similar learning experiences.
One way I have been inspired to help others in
need is through the early death of my thirteen year old cousin,
Ellen Waldron, due to a Brain Stem Glioma. She was in individual of
kindness and inspiration. Even when times were tough; she never lost
her faith or hope. Motivated by her, I have been involved in the 5k
Race for Hope in Washington D.C. for the past four years helping
raise money in hope of finding a cure for this tragic illness.
Along with volunteering my time; athletics has
played a huge part in the development of my character. I was
district champion and state qualifier in swimming for all four years
as well as varsity letterman in field hockey, and track. Throughout
my athletics I managed to maintain honor roll status. Athletics has
helped me learn the importance of time management, commitment,
determination and I have enjoyed the taste of success. Realizing
what it takes to be successful, I have the competitive drive to se
goals and meet them with the highest standards. I aspire to be a
role mode, and have a positive impact on younger individuals.
Being elected CEO of my synthesized company at
Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW), I learned the importance
of the diversified nature of individuals and their specialized
talents; showing how everyone can work together to accomplish any
task.
I was able to enjoy some of my other interests by
participating in Christian Club, Student Against Destructive
Decisions, Foreign Language Club, and Art Club. Feel that my
experiences make me a well rounded person whose eyes have been open
to the many ways I can contribute positively to society.
I would like to conclude by thanking you for the
opportunity. I appreciate your contributions in helping students
reach their goals while in pursuit of maximizing their potential.
