Business Seminars

 

Each year the Williamsport Area Management Association sponsors one or two business seminars.  We encourage member feedback to let us know the topics, speakers and dates that work best for our members.  Past seminars have included everything from conflict management, to improving computer skills that help make your business more effective.

 

 

 2009 Raffle Ticket Sale

 

WAMA runs an annual raffle ticket sale to benefit the WAMA Scholarship fund.

 

In past year's we have had great prizes such as dining gift certificates, electronics, bus trip tickets and even a Family fitness membership compliments of the YMCA!  The ticket sale usually runs in the spring each year.

About Our Scholarship Program

 

The WAMA scholarship program was started 2002-03 to promote and encourage the organization's mission with area youth. The program has grown from a $500 scholarship to a $1000 scholarship funds in the short time the program has been in place.  WAMA is a 501(c)3 compliant non-profit organization affiliated with the James V. Brown Library.  Your contributions to the scholarship fund are fully tax deductible as charitable contributions. 

 

WAMA conducts fundraiser's throughout the year to grow the scholarship fund.  You can also donate to the fund by check payable to WAMA and sent to Attn: Scholarship Fund

Students interested in applying for a WAMA Scholarship

 

WAMA SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Carefully read the eligibility requirements listed below.

 

2. Complete the scholarship application, sign and date.

 

3. Attach a 500-word introduction letter, telling about yourself, your interests, and your goals.

 

4. Attach two letters of recommendation from sources other than relatives. Enclose a copy of your SAT scores and a copy of your grades from the first two grading periods of your senior year.

 

5. Return the information to the Scholarship Chairperson by the March 31, 2010.

 

6. Email any questions or concerns to the Scholarship Chairperson.

Eligibility Requirements

 

The scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who reside in

and graduate from a high school (or are home schooled) in Lycoming County.  Eligible seniors must be accepted for enrollment in a business program at an accredited college, university, technical, community or junior college and are in good academic standing of an 85 or above average. 

 

The Association has made available $1,000.00 in scholarship money to be awarded in 2010.   The money may be used for tuition, books, or fees only.

 

The Association will present the scholarship awards at the dinner meeting in May of 2010.  The Association would appreciate the past scholarship recipient to attend the following year’s May Association meeting as a guest to share what was accomplished academically and

to discuss his/her future goals.
